I don't know who may have made that particular comment (must of not been
reading my posts thoroughly that day) but I do know that I made the comment in
relation to the study of ethnopolitical conflict and genocide. I then
supported the statement by outlining the divisions, journals, research, and
programs, etc. within psychology that concerns this area of study.
Perhaps, you could list the number or name of the APA divisions for the "get
rich internet scheme" division, the journals that focus only on this topic,
the name of the graduate program at a major research institution focusing on
this branch of psychology, etc. Sounds like one of the more financially
lucrative areas of psychology.
I'm sure the comment above was meant to be humorous and was not intended to
disparage a branch of psychology, the research conducted in this area, or the
individuals who conduct such research (i.e.. Seligman, Suedfeld, Staub,
Zimbardo, McCauley, Okorodudu, etc.).
Warm regards,
linda
