Rick,

I wonder if the NEO-PI-R would work.  Several factors would seem
relevant to counseling (Openness, Neuroticism, Extraversion).  I am not
sure what the problem was with the MMPI-2, but the NEO-PI-R is also less
pathologically-oriented, which may be a benefit.
