Dear Tipsters,
Steve is right. Funnily enough, I was going to allude to this event
in my earllier post, but decided to stick the the issue of
uniformity of content, particularly since I was speaking about
elections at the Federal level. Steve's post refers to a vote in
Quebec only.
However, he is right that there should be uniformity of scoring. I
would have said that this is where the US practice of machine scoring
beats our practice of handwriting but given the events of Florida and
other places, machines do not ensure perfection in this regard!
By the way, although the presidential election and referendum were
both very close, the turnout in ourReferendum was, I believe, over
90% of the population, perhaps over 95.
