I agree with Stuart.

We do no favor to our students by showing them that we can set aside  
our comitment because we may not have our A game.

  I think it is important to recognise some students have sacrificed  
to be in the seat. Some students may have their child in day care so  
they can attend class, dealt with tough traffic (or waited forever for  
a parking space), chosen to not party the night before, etc. They are  
owed our best effort available, even if we don't actually have our  
very best in us at that moment.
