I remember this bit and it's located on page 159 of the edition on books.google.com but only in snippet form: http://books.google.com/books?cd=1&id=E3ZcAAAAMAAJ&dq=%22the+essential+lenny+bruce%22&q=ambulance#search_anchor I found my old Ballantine Books paperback version of The Essential Lenny Bruce and in it the bit is on page 194 but starts on p193 and is titled "Guys are Carnal" according to the index in the back of the book. Bruce's point is that guys can detach sex from emotional and personal relationships so all they need is the appropriate stimulus to get aroused. A little of the exchange: Outraged Female voice: "How could you be hot whey your foot is cut off? People are dead and bleeding to death!" Ashamed male: [apologetic] "I dunno." Female: "He's an animal! He got hot with his foot cut off!" Male: "I guess I'm an animal. I dunno." Female: "What did you get hot at?" Male: "The nurse's uniform, I think."
