From her clarification, it seems it was the latter. It didn't matter to me in replying, though, because my answer would be the same in either case (no data to choose between the two claims, but I didn't need any merely to raise a plausible alternative). But perhaps I could have worked on the tone of my reply, which may have come across stronger than I intended. Actually, it came across more incoherent than I intended.
