First, I want to apologize to making a really bad pun (or something like a pun) about a delicate topic. But the end of the semester is nigh and one may start to act a little funny/strange around this time. That being said.
Second, new research seems to establish that cannibalism occurred at the early Jamestown settlement. Smithsonian researchers have made this announcement which has been picked up by popular media outlets, like the BBC -- see: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-22362831 -- and HuffPo -- see: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/05/01/cannibalism-jamestown-archaeological-evidence_n_3193947.html What appears to be the press release by the Smithsonian can be read here: http://historicjamestowne.org/jane/jane.php I note without comment that there is an ad on the Smithsonian page for a book and video on "Jane", the "subject" of the research. Wait until after lunch to read this. -Mike Palij New York University [email protected] --- You are currently subscribed to tips as: [email protected].
