MRV is faster than TTG, as I said. And how the transfer works depends
on the network. If you're using WiFi then everything goes through
the router, that's just how WiFi works. When you have an
infrastucture network everything goes through the router. You could
setup an ad hoc network for TiVo to TiVo direct transfer, but then the
TiVo can't talk to anything else.

With a wired network devices community directly.

It already does. If you have a TiVo on broadband it checks for new
recording requests every 15 minutes or so. The checks with TiVo
Central Online are separate from the daily data call.
