Since you say you're using TiVoToGo, you must have a standalone Series2 unit and not a DirecTiVo. If you have a Pioneer or Toshiba DVD-RW TiVo then it will revert to TiVo Basic when you kill the subscription, which gives you some basic functionality. Otherwise the unit will cease to operate. Series2 TiVos cannot be used for manual recordings without a subscription. And all the networking features, like TiVoToGo, also only operate with a subscription (they don't work in TiVo Basic either).
