Ok, I'm sure someone here know the answer to this. What I want to do is store a rental video or two on my old S1 box, it has the inputs for the satellite box (composite video/audio), and a friend told me you could access it using "channel 00". I had recently set it up to think it had a satellite box on it, even though it didn't, and activated one channel from the satellite, it worked, but I wanted a cleaner setup, and went through the guided setup again to take the satellite service off. Now I can't get the input going again, even when I set it up as a manual record.
He told me that it only worked when set up as a manual record, not from watching live TV or just hitting record while it's on. I've tried about every combo to make it work, and I only get the blue screen saying "no signal" type stuff. So, the two questions are: How can I activate/access the A/V inputs on the back of the old S1 boxes (intended for satellite box input) so I can temporarily record a DVD or VCR tape I've borrowed, for later watching (I'm not interested in lifting the shows off the drive, only watching them later). Second, for some reason the time is off by an hour. I've selected the correct time zone, and day light savings time, but it's an hour late. Fortunately, it still records the correct shows at the correct time, but one of these days I'll forget and leave the house an hour late. Other than the guided setup, is there any way to make adjustments to the time, DST adjustment or time zone ? Glen
