They're only active when the S1 is configured to believe it has a satellite receiver or a cable box connected. If you have it configured to be just analog cable, using the internal tuner, they're inactive. You might configure it to be cable *and* satellite, then de-select all but one satellite channel. Then it'll work with analog cable just fine, and you can use that one channel to record from A/V. > Second, for some reason the time is off by an hour.
