Thanks for the info...
I had a cable guy come out and replace the cable card and still a long delay.
Then the took out the tivo and put in their cable box. Still a long delay.
Maybe not 6 seconds but a lot longer than I would have hoped.

In all the time we spent finding out about HD, we never once heard about any
"lag" when it came to channel changing.

Looks like I'm stuck with the delay.

I think the new president should look into this right after he changes the BCS
p0alyoff situation!!

Thanks - I'm fine, just been really busy.

With TiVos that have an external cable box and IR blasters a longer
delay is expected since it has to send the IR signal and then there is
lag as it buffers the new signal.

But with a Series3 or TiVo HD it should be faster. For me a channel
change takes just shy of 2 seconds for analog and 3 seconds for
digital from pressing the Chan Up/Down to the new channel being
displayed. That's normal, it has to tune the new channel, buffer it
to the drive, then read it, decode, and display.

Six seconds sounds a bit slow, I'm not sure what would cause that.
*Maybe* a weak signal, it might cause it to take longer to lock onto
the channel when tuning.
