Once upon a time mcciavarella shaped the electrons to say... > If you change your TiVo to 1080i or 720p fixed, channel change time > will be quicker.
Thanks, I can't believe I didn't think if that. If you're using HDMI to connect ot your TV, every time you change to a channel with a different resolution the TV has to adapt to it if you're using Native or one of the Hybrid modes on the TiVo. Natively the TiVo's menus are 720p, and channels are 480i, 720p, or 1080i. So if you're channel surfing and tune from an HD channel at 720p to one at 1080i then the TV has to recognize the switch and resync with the new signal. This can add a couple of seconds of delay, or even some video flicker on some TVs. I had this with my Samsung DLP. Early on I used Native mode on my TiVo. But after a while I switched to 1080i Fixed and just let the TiVo scale it. (My TV is 1080p, so it is the best resolution for my set, if you have a 720p set then 720p Fixed is better.) I don't use LiveTV, but switching in and out of the menus (720p) to 1080i programs got annoying to me. -MZ -- megazone-at-megazone.org http://www.MegaZone.org/ Gweep, Geek, Human, me. http://www.GizmoLovers.com/ http://www.Eyrie-Productions.com/ -><- Hail Eris "A little nonsense now and then, is relished by the wisest men" 508-852-2171
