I've had the same problem with my 2 year old Magnavox and series 2 Humax TiVos. Power and volume work fine, but even a code search couldn't make the input button work.

What remote do you have? If you have TiVo's Glo remote (aka the S3 remote, comes with the S3 and HD XL) it is programmable so you could program in the TV's IR codes.
