Ok here's where I am at...
I am running:
tmda 0.70
sendmail 8.9.3 (MTA)
procmail 3.22 (MDA)
Outlook Express (MUA)
I actually have sendmail working using the - delimited instead of +
As we all know sendmail does not let you get access to the RECIPIENT
address before it's re-write rules are executed
I can get it by any of the following:
Received: from header - Need to watch for spoofing - formail/sed may not be
enough
I could add an extra X-Header filed - too bad it can be spoofed, can't
overwrite header that exists
and the obvious - dump sendmail - since I am running 8.9.3 (old) it should
be obvious
that this is not an
option - it's secure and stable
(and yes has patches
and is tested like crazy)
The bottom line I am going to need to write a program to extract
what I need and to cover a number of special cases.
What tools can good RFC822/etc parsing scripts/programs be written in?
sed isn't good enough, I'm no good at awk... I was thinking more along the
lines of C (not C++ too big) or maybe python since it compiles itself
pointers?
