2) TMDA by default does send its auto-responses with a null <> envelope sender address, so you must have changed this in your configuration.
Yes, I had changed this, so that I would get the failed confirms (i.e. confirms that failed to deliver because of non-existent domain, for example), and could then post-process them for inclusion into my 'badmailfrom'.
