I've encountered this type of reaction on mail lists ranging from Spam-L to a
variety of lists for RBLs. They range from "Why should I have to jump thru
hoops to send you email?" to "Why am I presumed guilty?"

I find this sadly amusing since it presumes they have a right to send me
email. Now these are the same people who spend an awful lot of time
complaining to ISPs, reporting addresses and IP block to RBLs because they
are upset with other people who fel they had a right to send them email.

Now, given the fact that gnashing their teeth about spammers is largely
ineffective, it is surprising that they don't like a system which gives them
control over what gets to their mailbox.

I am beginning to think they like the sense of "community" they get thru their
activities so much they avoid using something so effective that they don't
get to LART and complain about joe-jobs.

Me? I wouldn't be without TMDA. Even though we have very stringent
restrictions at the MTA level, TMDA gives as much control over what gets to
the inbox as we could possibly need.
