Not sure about the others, but I use Maildir for the following. I have
the /home dir mounted via NFS to a 500g server / raid. This allows me
to back up all the email files and allows users to leave mail on the
server. I would prefer to have it be non NFS, but but I had a free NAS
server that could do the job just fine. Maildir also seems to be allot
more stable. ie. I have had a few mbox formats go bad and not allow
the client to access them. Leaving the only solution to delete and
start over. This obviously looses any email that may have been missed
via the nightly backups.
So in short Maildir rocks.
