FYI, I'm using bincimap (1.2.0b1 with a couple bugfix patches) and it's
working out great with all of:

Horde/Imp webmail
MS Outlook Express
Mozilla Thunderbird

There are a few minor quirks - when OE/Thunderbird check for new mail, it
doesn't always show new mail in sub-folders until I actively click on
those sub-folders. This could easily be OE/Thunderbird (symptoms are a
little different between each!) *or* bincimap (since my version is a bit
outdated) - but it's certainly quite usable.

I'm running qmail as the MTA and obviously using Maildir. My virtual
domains are kindof a custom hack-job base off a bunch of HOWTOs on the
'net, but very similar to vpopmail.

I keep being mildly tempted to switch away from qmail (either using the
Perl qmail-smtpd replacement, or to another MTA [or write my own in
Python!]) to get new features such as SPF checking etc. etc. at the SMTP
level, without maintaining 1000 patches against the source myself...
