* First things first, I repeat my apology though I don't really see the need for the same, and I also don't see if anyone sounded like one needed it in the first place.
* Next, I am glad if a good session of brainstorming is seen as the need of the day. Thanks to Karthik for listing out the various lines of thought needed for medical cases, which also enables upating the existing version of the guidelines document for the same. * While I do empathize with Prasanthi in all that she feels, I surely also do indicate that the words like "remote control" hurt people. I say this because it's not by this particular choice that people outside Hyderabad/AP/India opted out of being in the field. Indeed, even this might be taken as "lack of respect for the people who struggle" outside the field. I do agree that people out there are stressing themselves out. I remember, Prasanthi and Vani said they'd go on a break, about 2-3 weeks back, but there was not probably one day that I didn't see their e-mails to the group. I can understand the dedication of people when they go to a hospital visit at 5:50 a.m. (Now, if it was amiss by a few minutes, please don't start asking if I think the right minute of visit is important; it's simply not, and I don't intend to make it any more important than it is!) But that doesn't mean we're all jobless here, only trying to boss around. I am sure Prasanthi didn't mean it that way, but if I didn't know her personally - which is the case with some people around here surely, with due respects to their compassionate levels of understanding people's intentions - there's a fair chance of misinterpreting her words completely, and I don't blame them then! As someone who knows her, I can only try to clarify to people that she's not really intended to hurt people but that she's too stressed out. (I see Divya's e-mail here about choosing to take a break. Take it if you should because of other things, but don't see THIS as a good time/reason, please.) * The infamous "idli" question: Prasanthi, you wrote yourself that you don't know the prices right. And, surprisingly, you get irritated that a person away from the country for two years is thinking about the prices! My intention is clear, of course, and I am surprised if you or someone else didn't see it - when we're spending for things also through a humanity angle, we need to cut down costs and encourage cutting down costs too, so that we can help others and they can help themselves better. "Effective help where it's needed" is the key here. * Not to blame you, Prasanthi, but how different are your statement about SDP and my statement about FDP? I am only asking this to clarify my communication further - for the future. I do take Ratan ji's comments - thanks for trying to guide me, sir - and I always strive to make effective communication, only to fail sometimes miserably. Learning constantly is a good thing, not the opposite! More thoughts to come... Lack of respect for the people who struggle. Sit there in some far away place and try to remote control. (This doesn't mean they are not bothered or unconcerned) Unless and until we do, we can never know which one is good, which one is bad. Should we spend time on thinking whether something is good or should we spend time on executing? I do not know.
