Hello Suresh, These kids are those whose genuinity is verified. Regarding making them aware of our contribution, we will do. If we select a place, we will try to help those kids and their families in all ways like educating them reg. hygiene, cleanliness etc., As we will monitor them regularly for their marks and all round development, making them accountable wouldn't be a problem.
What I feel is initially we will sponsor them for one year and then can collect donations for the subsequent years. These are all below poverty line children. What I personally feel is with the range of active volunteers and the groups we are involved in, we can generate the req. financial aid. Coming to the girl who secured 507 marks in 10th standard, I will get the details either today or tomorrow. This case is referred to me by Sri Sai Gollapudi, site manager of Nokia, who is an experienced person in social work too. He heads Satyasai Seva Organization also. They already sponsored a boy who secured 506 marks. He told me that the girl is interested to study but her family is too poor to afford her education. As soon as I get the details, I will mail to the group. Thank you. --- In [email protected], suresh <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > Prasanthi, > Who are these children , i mean , what are they studying and how much financial support are we planning to provide. > > i'm going to work on drafting an email to solicit help and i need any information that would help approach the sponsorers. > > From a volunteer perspective , i see no problems with allocating the money for sponsoring education for these kids. > > As part of the guidelines that we (US team) are working on ( yet to be finalised ) , please identify > 1) The dollar amount that we want to sponsor for. > 2) Duration: In the present context, how many years of education are we intending to sponsor. > 3) Kind of sponsorship: books, hostel fees , tuition fees etc. > 4) Most importantly , we need to educate the recepient (recepient's family) about our contribution and make them accountable. > > Our help is to make them independent and not dependent on us. > > let me know your comments/suggestions ... > > cheers > > > > Lakshmi Prasanthi Uppalapati <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Hello Friends, > > Good Morning/Evening. > > We have identified few children who are in need of financial support for their education. > > Also I came to know about a girl who got 507 marks in 10th and cannot afford higher education. > > Let us decide on to support for education (as we do not have any medical help cases on hand) and also many members are interested in supporting the education. > > Thank you. > -- > with regards, > PRASANTHI. > ---- > When you want something, the whole universe conspires in helping you to achieve it. > > > > > > I am only one, but still I am one.
