Sravan garu, Yes. It involves lot of physical activity.
We need a very elaborate discussion and also continuous meetings with respect to this idea. Initially Jairam and Srinivas are interested. I am interested. We need to know the response of other members as well. We haven't promised anything to the villagers so far. We also haven't considering the whole village, initially. We will be concentrating on the people to whom we have access. We will start by providing education support. Then we will give classes, talk to teachers there etc., Anyway, let us keep it open for discussion. Especially Hyderabad members, whose decision is required, as we need volunteers from here itself. Thank you. --- In [email protected], sravan kumar patnaik <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > Hi Prasanthi, > > This activity requires lot of physical support. First of all try to find out how many of us interested to allocate some time for this activity. But I wrote the series of steps that we can follow in my earlier mail. If we have any action plan at this time, it would be vague. A clear plan can only be prepared after a series of studies and right now we do not have one. > > 4. The problems faced by them --- This information also we can get over a period of time. On our first visit, we went there only to cross-check the details of the kids. On yesterday's visit of Jairam and Srinivas, we came to know that they have health related problems and they need medical help. > > Slowly we can get the other details as well. Some we can and some we cannot help. Take for example, the consuming of liquor there. Both men and women consume. It is not easy for us to tackle this problem and if we about this, we will lose them. Any person who is addicted to some habit, whether it is good or bad, first of all don't like to change them. Even if they will, it is very difficult for the change to take place. > > Raghu.. you mentioned about smoking :)) Just kidding. I have many bad habits and my mother opines that one cannot find any good habit in me even if they search with torch or something as such :)) > > It is better not to go about the bad first. Let us concentrate on all the good things for which those people can co-operate. Reg. the bad habits we should choose an indirect way. This is not our first priority. > > 5. Ultimate goal of ours is to see the positive changes and the results there. Creating awareness in them. Awareness with respect to govt. schemes, how to go fetching them, how to take care of their premises, how to maintain health and sanitation whatever... > > 6. We can feel that the village is upto our standards when we are confident enough that the people can do the tasks on their own. We should train the educated people there (10th pass, Intermediate pass) etc., and also should form a group of people who are active and who are intelligent and smart enough to tackle any problems. > > These are all my personal feelings. > > Please add your views to it. > > Last but not the least, we should never venture into a project without a concrete plan and backup resources as well. > > Thank you. > > > On 6/19/06, raghu <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: Dear Prasanthi, > > Kudos for the medical camp!!! > > Adopting a village is a very goos idea, i strongly feel that if the village is developed, the country will prosper. > > But for that we need to do many a case studies. Firstly, how do we make sure that people over there believe in us? Secondly what is the action plan we will implement over there? What are the problems the people over there are facing to be addressed by we people? What is the ultimate goal of ours? means when we should feel that the village reached our expectations and we can stop at that point? > > As far as i know, this is the right time to go ahead adopting the village, but the complete action plan, case study and the targets should be ready before we step in to such a big project.
