Aushadhi has been renamed as MedPlus. They are coming up with a
Centralised Lab. for medical investigations. They felt the name AUSHADHI was
giving an impression that it is a chain of ayurvedic medicine shop. Hence the
change. They give 10% discount to general patients, which turns out to be 6.25%
after adding back VAT. If a customer is senior citizen, they give around 13.25%
which after VAT addition, remains at 10% net.
Subhiksha does give discount on MRP, but its not that high. Its only few per
cents. So if we are buying from retail chain, MedPlus would be better. If
anyone wants, I have my father-in-law's card on which we will get a net 10%
discount even after VAT is charged.
Or else if the medicine is very very costly, then we can buy it from the
supplier. I will use my contacts for buying from the supplier directly, but
returns wont be accepted if we buy from supplier and we have to buy in packs.
Suppose a drug is available in 10 Tab's pack, then we can buy 15 tabs from a
retailer, but if we buy from supplier, cut-pieces are not allowed, hence we
will have to buy the whole pack.
Anyway, I will find that out once we decide to help in this case and once the
medicines are known to us.
