Friends, What is our approach towards the activities?
Should everyone of us take up every activity in the group. or Should we confine to different teams and respond only when the other group needs our support? Why I posed this question is......... so far we worked in the first model. Everyone of us took up every activity. Most of our members served both Education and Medical cases, Distribution Projects. Result? We couldn't work in an organized way and we couldn't fulfill the responsibilities in the strict/true sense. Say for example, Thalassemia campaign. If myself and Kasyap worked only on medical activities and in that too to this particular cause, we would have achieved more for we use the little time that we have on this project and we could achieve something concrete and we would have done much better to the cause (this is what I think most of the members want to see, at the end of the year, what is the 'REAL' progress that is made). Similarly, if Vani, Jairam, Karthik and Srinivas concentrate only on Education part, they would have identified few more schools and might kick start the Project Library activity too. All of us have many plans and we did come up with good ideas. The reason why they can't be put into action is the interests are scattered. It is not for having less number of volunteers, but for not properly channelizing the efforts. It is not the lack of time, but using it for all activities. Friends, this is my opinion. My point of view. The question especially is to Hyderabad volunteers on how they want to work. Do you want to spend/pass the time or you want to seriously work for the group? Even if you spend one weekend in a month and if you can work on particular cause, that would make a real difference. Don't you get satisfaction if you work in this fashion? or Do you feel restricted? Would you mind helping the other group in case if an activity/help is urgent/important and particular group volunteers cannot work for any reason? If most of you feel that you do not want to be that serious, you want to follow the mails, see the activity and if anything is announced, if you are interested, participate, otherwise, keep silent. You please come forward with your views. Based on your opinion only, we can get an idea on whether to go for Registering the group or not. If at all we want to wait for the activities to be announced, if we want to take up if we are interested and free enough that particular week, take up, otherwise ignore, we need not opt for registration at all. This doesn't mean that you should work at any cost. If you are committed to a cause, if you be in regular touch with your subgroup, you can plan activities according to your schedules. Here someone else in the group, who posts some activity, will not decide your work. You will see to that you will work and you can plan as such that you can do justice to both your personal works and to the cause. I do not think so that before coming to a clear picture on the basic questions that concern the group as a whole, there is no point in indulging in any activity. We have come a stage where we cannot proceed further without clear picture.
