Friends, I have one suggestion regarding this. This is only my personal opinion. If free hosting service is taken from Raj or telugupeople or anyone else, you will always be in 'hesitant' situtation to go back to hosting provider with all your requests, and at some point you may think 'are we troubling our hosting provider with too-many requests' etc..! I see that this is what is happening currently as well. Instead, wherever you host the website, it is better to be a paid hosting service, so that you can demand the service when needed, and you do not feel uncomfortable putting any no. of requests. But since you have options for free hosting, you can put it this way. You can pay for the service monthly,and then the amount paid to the hosting provider can be donated back to TMAD for any cause. That way - both parties get satisfaction and can avoid uneasy feeling. I hope, I have putforth my point correctly without hurting anyone. I apologize if not.
Main thing with hosting is - you should be in a position to update your website anytime without waiting for someone long time, you should be able to get support to resolve issues (at the earliest, not too long), provision for backups etc. Wherever you host it, I would suggest using the WordPress software. I just want to list few advantages with WordPress software: 1. Wordpress is a publishing system built on PHP and MySQL and licensed under the GPL 2. It is very easy to use 3. Full user registration module is inbuilt into it. All members can register on the website, submit comments on any posts, we can create pages and give permission only to members etc etc 4. Spam protection is available 5. You can password protect posts 6. Individual members in the group can run their independent blogs on this group website. Your domain name is www.tomakeadifference.net. Now, Prssanthi can create her own blog on this website with her own theme and look, and run her blog as http://prasanthi.tomakeadifference.net. This is all inbuilt into wordpress, and it is easy. 7. Easy installation and upgrades 8. There are so many plugins available for each functionality enhancement. Check on www.wordpress.org 9. You can have a 'Contributor Team', the members of which are allowed post updates on the website, and at the same time, you can form an 'Admin Team', the members of which can review each update and approve it.
