Dear All, From the past two weeks, I have been visiting registration office and meeting the guys outside the office, most of them being notaries, document writers adn staff of the office.
After I read the RTI success story from Bangalore, I thought why dont we start some Document writing service at Registration office to help not only the poor but every one who want their registration done without paying the 10% maamool....... May be we can charge the document charges plus some amount but not as maamool..just 200 or 500 rupees. When all the documents are proper(most of them will have all original and pakka documents), we can guide them to approach Registrar directly and see how they would reject the application. Most of the document verification and land veriofication can be done at Registration Department website itself. Remaining verification can be done by paying 120 rupees for EC. I think this should be viable. We can inform the Collector and Superintendent of Police of that town and invite them for the inaguaration saying that we want to make Registration office Clean and Fair. No body can deny the fact that its very much corrupted. If at all they oblige come and inaguarate our office/shop, other document writers or the corrupt people inside the office wont dare harm us or black mail us. slowly if all document writers & Officers mend their ways we can shift to another city. Just by typing a stamp paper, they earn 200 rupees. Even if we get one registration per day, it will be more than 4 to 5K per month enough for one unemployed youth. Initially it will be difficult to get teh matter for various different registrations. But every thing is available over the net now a days. But this unemployed youth should get the support from some one initially to get a shop near the registration office and some one who can bring some officials(like collector or IPS officers initially). We can take some % from this for TMAD. If anyone of you has got the registration done without giving formalities or without knowing anyone at regn office...Pl share ur experiences. I have got it done many times as my uncle worked there as registrar.
