Its always great if we can generate funds ourselves without asking donations, specially in the long run. Many such projects we will create in future will also create jobs as many already mentioned, which is another good cause in itself.
I like this idea personally a lot. How much can we implement it and at what success rate, depends on time, commitments and project sketch itself. This definitely should be given a good try. I support the idea aswell. A while ago when we were talking about this, I think starting an old age home was one of the ideas, along with someother small scale industry thoughts.
