Dear All, Regarding nursery, we can even start in our flats/apartments or nearby apartments too
We have already discussed this in our monthly meeting here. Our plan is, Step 1: Separate vegetable and biodegradable waste and plastics at Home(First our Home) Step 2 : Prepare Compost from it(At our Home First) Step 3: Grow Vegetables, flower plants or nursery at our Home Slowly once we are experienced for at atleast 2 - 3 months, we can goto a nearby flats association and not recommend them but but do it ourselves for them. slowly they will join and when they can do it for themselves leave it for them and goto the next flats. Income generation Part: 1. Sell those vegetables to the people in the flats(as we are growing them, 50% for us and as its their place, 50% discount for them). Or 2. Collect Specific charges for our service(Even we thought segregating their waste and collect their waste from their kitchen in the initial stage as they may not be interested to segregate and keep the waste). may be we can take the help of the watchman/security there. No Investment. No need of many volunteers. No need of all volunteers coming to one place. 2 or 3 people at one place can do it near by their home. After we do it for 3 months, we will keep a badge or banner in front of our Home saying TMAD Green Home(or something like that) so that neighbors wud be interested to know what it is. If they are interested but busy we will do it in their home too initially till they are motivated an inspired. This is what we discussed in our monthly meeting Chennai. We will start this soon hopefully. ArunK Chennai On Fri, Feb 19, 2010 at 6:36 PM, Sri Surya <[email protected]> wrote: > > > Begin with a strategic goal.
