It seems that I've answered the 'I followed all the instructions, why can't I see my servlet at http://localhost/servlet/HelloServlet?' question from people using the Core Servlets book about a million times now. This *has* to be a FAQ, but all I can find is "why is the invoker evil?'.
Does anyone know of some step by step instructions to point people at? The Core Servlets book webpage advocates re-enabling the invoker servlet, which doesn't seem like a good thing to teach newbies. And yet I'm not sure that throwing web.xml at them when they're just trying to run their first Servlet is a good idea either. This is the page I'm directing them to at the moment: http://www.coreservlets.com/Apache-Tomcat-Tutorial/#Enable-Invoker Does anyone have a better alternative? If not I suppose I'll have to write my own, but I'm almost certain someone already has and I just can't find it. -- Wendy Smoak Application Systems Analyst, Sr. ASU IA Information Resources Management --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
