No more JK2 ?

Looking for some more details on this crucial subject.
IMHO, the tomcat home site don't give clear information yet.
MOD-JK replaced by MOD_JK2 in the past few year
MOD_JK2 replaced by JK in the near future ???
I don't undestand, may you help me please.
