As Kief Morris mentioned, 2.3 is nearly out. (And I agree with Kief when he
says that the probably reason for deprecation was to make the naming more
consistent - the api docs only say:
Deprecated. As of Version 2.2, this method is replaced by
getAttribute(java.lang.String).
No other reason is given.
