There are a couple of reasons why not. 1, the users who are administering
mission critical raid servers are more likely both to know how to customize,
and also to already be customizing, therefore the burden is less. 2, even
though Linux is catching on more and more with enterprise systems, the bulk
of users by number is still IDE only, and the bulk of SCSI is Adaptec, with
megaraid coming in far later, by number of users. It isn't fair to make
hundreds of Advansys or Initio low-end scsi users have to customize it for
every one high-end user with a RAID system- especially in light of (1), in
that the folks with high-end systems will have less trouble from the need
to customize. There is one factor which may get it added, anyway- it is
much smaller than many of the other scsi drivers. So, even if it doesn't
deserve to be added on the merits otherwise, I may stick it on at some
point just because I have the space... -Tom
