Yes. Of course, you do have to *re-run* buildit.s and install.s.
You should be modifying the __existing__ append= statement, NOT
adding a new one, by the way.

Delete emacs and ce, or vi and elvis, depending on your preference of
editors. Delete dmsdos.o and dutil if you don't use DoubleSpace etc.
Delete ntfs.o if you don't need ntfs. Look in /usr/lib/modules/scsi
for modules you don't need. That will probably be enough.
