Thanks for the reply. With -t vfat I do not get long file names, period. I mis-spoke
earlier in stating that the filename that I created ealier is getting converted. I
should have said that the long filename for that file only is displayed when I mount
with -t vfat; everything else is the 8.3 format, including those lovely '~'s.
It is quite baffeling for me. Any other ideas?
