Yep. It'd be interesting to see where vim 7 is w.r.t. POSIX compliance, and to see what kind of effort it would take to make it fully (or sufficiently?) compliant, and resubmit those change to Bram. At any rate, I would have no problem (and I don't think the ARC would have much of a problem) with a project that simply delivered /usr/bin/vim (and the other non-conflicting executables), and left everything else to a future project.
