And it *does* come with its own vim. But one thing the ARCs like to emphasize is to use bundled tools if at all possible. And to pressure the teams integrating those tools to make themselves usable by as many consumers as want them. So there is, I think, a reasonably strong argument to have GUI support in the WOS version of vim.
