Hi,
First, my apologies that this change hasn't happened yet. And an update.
There is a companion list to opensolaris-bugs: opensolaris-rfe.
So I will do the following if there are no objections:
- This week: Send email tomorrow (Friday) to both lists explaining
that each will be de-commissioned next week: the forums turned off
and an auto-responder set up on each mailing list.
- Next week: Turn off the forums and set up the auto-responses.
I agree with the solution to this, but wonder whether we should have
some sort of alias/mechanism, to allow contributors to be able to add
additional detail to bugs they've filed or are interested in. Currently
the only way to do this is by finding a responsive Sun person, or going
to the mailing list that's most connected to the bug in hand.
opensolaris-bugs might have been good for those cases (not suggesting we
shouldn't still remove it, but perhaps some guidance on
bugs.opensolaris.org is required.
Hi Glynn,
I think the issue of not currently being able to update bug information
via BOO is a separate issue. That's on the list as an enhancement to
BOO now that there is a Public Comments field in Bugster bug reports.
No target date yet for implementation because we've got other work to do
before we can get to that.
I'll ask on the opendev list if they can talk about what guidance might
be suggested in the interim.
Thanks.
Bonnie
