Christoph;  Can you take a look at the error log and see what messages
it has?  The underlying error may occur before the "General Ask Error"
and may give you some hints on what construct is causing the problem.

The DIG standard is not complete and Pellet may be processing
constructs that DIG has not caught up to yet.  See 
http://dl.kr.org/dig/interface.html,
where is it specifically  states "The expressivity offered by DIG 1.1
is not sufficient to capture general OWL-DL ontologies — in particular
datatype support is lacking in DIG 1.1 and there is a poor fit between
DIG's notion of relations and OWL properties."

However, work-arounds may be possible, depending on  the specific
error.
