Thanks for sharing the links. But I guess, earlier I didn't explain
my question clearly so let me explain it correctly now.
As per the business requirement, we are trying to host/configure the EVN
REST service(s) in a third party application and that third party
application can call secured REST services only by putting the username &
password in the REST URL. That third party application doesn't use/work
with cookies for session management. So that third party application always
calls the EVN REST services by putting the username & password in the REST
URL. And we don't have much control over that third party application to
change this behavior. I understand that putting the username & password is
not a better practice but at the moment there are constraints to go for
other modes of authentication when calling EVN REST services from that
third party application.
*In short, I just want to check that whether there is a way to make the EVN
REST services work with the username & password putting in the URL? So that
the EVN REST service call returns the response directly instead of
redirecting the request to form based login page. Please let us know if we
need to make some configuration change in the EVN application or in the
Application/Web server(in which EVN application runs) for this.*
