Hello everyone,
is there noone who can help me?
I'm still stuck in the same place and I cannot figure out how to model what
I would like to model. Really strange. Is there anybody who is actually using
Topcased for systems engineering with SysMl???
Thanks
Michael
Hi,
First of all thanks to Stephane for his quick answer, but I am still having
trouble.
By now I have looked into the SysML Specification and all the things that I
would like to do seem to be specified the way I understood them from the
tutorials. BUT I somehow cannot get anything done with Topcased v.1.4. I am
still hoping that I am doing something wrong, but maybe somebody can help me!!!
I am trying to define a system which consists of one main block which is
composed of a set of smaller blocks. I do that in a bdd and it works just fine.
I can define properties for the blocks and I can also use the
"generalization" for modelling inheritance. The problem arises when I
try to instantiate those blocks inside the ibd of the main block. What I would
expect is, that I can somehow drag&drop (or whatever else) the blocks from
the outline to my ibd and then use the connections to connect my flow ports. I
cannot get that step done. What I can do is add a property of the type of the
defined block to my ibd, but then I can neither define actual values for my
block properties nor does the inheritance, which is modelled in the bdd, show
any effect.
Are there any flaws in the way I am thinking, or is there a problem with the
way I am trying to use the software. I would think, that the things that I am
trying to do are exactly what SysML is made for (correct me if I am wrong).
Maybe someone can give me a hint as to what I am doing wrong.
Thanks a lot
Michael
Hello Michael,
The TOCPASED SysML editor is quite compliant with the SysML
specification published on May 06. On the 2.0.0 TOPCASED release we are
about to provide a SysML editor based on the specification of september
07 (final one).
You will find IBDs, BDDs, req diagrams, and all the UML2 diagrams (not
a specific one for the activity diagram for instance). The effbd
represents the application of a specific profile on the activity
diagram. TOPCASED offers the definition and application of specific
profiles so you should be able to have effbds.
I hope this helps you.
Regards,
Stephane.
