Same here i lack the artistic skills for this,   however i look at how
easy text is to read on the background so a light background and white
icon text is hard to read,  so as long as there is a light / dark
contrast to me it is fine,  what the user does post install is up to them.

probably not,   I would think that most devices (even older devices)
have usb boot capability now anyway,   so there are options to plug in a
usb flash disk, or a usb dvd device.

However if moving to dvd be careful we don't fall in to the feature
creep trap and add more bells / whistles / software etc, just because
the bigger file system allows that.  Very easy trap to fall in to.

By that i mean don't do what the pi foundation has done and clutter up
the raspbian OS with things like wolfram (500mb of disk space) and
libreoffice which take up a huge amount of space,  not good when you are
never going to use it.

I am trying to keep screenshots in the manual to a minimum where
possible.   Simple to save space but also to avoid the temptation to
write docs for every tool when there are external resources already
written.

However saying that, having more space for documentation is a good
thing.  so include manuals for OBI etc too.
