Hello adrian,

I'm under 7 x64 professional currently.

I've got at the same time tortoisesvn and tortoisehg on the machine.
I see no big issue, like crash , freeze etc...

The only things that don't work are:
- overlays, but that also don't work with tortoisesvn. So this is not a big issue for now :)

- the context menu is changed (like on vista)
http://bitbucket.org/tortoisehg/stable/issue/466/
This bug has maked people I know installng hg a little reluctant to install it becasue they thought it will break their windows :)

I've seen taht there is some patch in the bug tracker for issue 466.
Are you interested in my plateform to test and squash definitively bug 466?

For overlay I can help but i've got no experience in windows system programming.
I 've got visual C++ 2008 express installed.

Cheers,
Laurent

Current open shell extension issues can be listed by using

the following links:

http://bitbucket.org/tortoisehg/stable/issues/?kind=bug&status=open&component=overlays

http://bitbucket.org/tortoisehg/stable/issues/?kind=bug&status=open&component=cmenu

Contributors being able to help fixing or investigating

problems would be most welcome.

I especially have a problem with the Windows 7 platform, as I

currently lack access to the released version of Windows 7.

Hardware (64 bit) would be available here, but I do not own

a license (my MSDN pro subscription has expired before Windows 7

final was released). Vista 64 bit is available here.

Regarding the overlays, Windows 7 has the inherent problem that

it provides too few slots for overlay handlers out of the box

as noted in: http://bitbucket.org/tortoisehg/stable/issue/324 .

(I discovered this on Windows 7 RC. I can't say if anything has

changed since the release of Windows 7 final).

If this problem can be tackled, it probably must be attacked

in the TortoiseOverlays component, which wraps overlay handlers, and

which is developed in another project (ie not on the TortoiseHg

project).

So, from my side, support for shell extension on Windows 7 final is

currently very limited, or in fact: inexistent (mostly because I lack

access to it).

Contributors having access to Windows 7 64 bit final wanted.
