Hey Mel, I am considering doing maybe one speaker remotely — though, the power in TEDx events are the mingling and the conversations that take place between the audience and speakers between sessions. Though, a Google Plus conversation would be really interesting — particularly in the inherent message it carries. I think there are some creative opportunities there. I'll have to be very thoughtful though. I'm not sure open source would be the right conversation in that medium, but I'm open to ideas!
