Hi to all who was at Newcastle last night and those who lived in our thoughts...(Jo Reeves), I've just spent the afternoon asleep cos I'm a lazy and stiff sod after last night in Newcastle. It was great to put more names to the faces (think that may be wrong) and old faces to new names? i.e Ian Mason, Geordie Al, Mike H and pal, Pete Gardner & bro., Adele H, Lisa B, Rob Wardlaw, Jenny P and sis and my flaming minds going numb again trying to remember everyone....It's ok - I know your faces now! Anyway, after many trials and tribulations getting there about 3 hours later than planned and once again, managing to offend those within earshot on GNER's 12 noon train from Glasgow, throwing all normal caution to the wind - we did! Me, Craig, Wee Stoo and Ian Mason. Newcastle was freezing. Just as well I was drunk. Just as well also that Jenny made out name tags specifically for TMML'rs who were in that state cos I actually forgot who I was at one point! As for the gig, not a bad arena I thought. I have to agree with most of Wee Stoo's comments except that I'm surprised he can actually remember anything about the day after about 11am. The young lad drank his way through my cargo of Miller before we even passed Berwick!! All those tales about young ladies nicking his hat.....dear me, it was just a single old lady actually telling him to stop dancing during the gig! I think I may have to apologise also to Lisa B. I said we'd be ok for the Chinese meal....we ended up in some Oz bar miles away. All I got for dinner was 2 packets of Monster Munch and a flaming Maverick bar. Not bad swishing around a day's bevy of bothany! As has already been said the lads were superb. OSB intro was slightly different I remember, but the balance of old and new songs was just about right I reckon. There was a lot of passion from the audience too. I found myself right at the front in "The Valley of Death" for for a lot of the gig and it was hard to breath up there. I am now carrying umpteen bruises on my ribs, sore legs and feet and bit of a hangover, but it was all worth it! The massive balloons were also present, and I don't mean any of Criags ex-girlfriends!! I couln't decide what to buy at the Merchandise stall so I ended up getting one of everything. Someone asked for details a couple of weeks ago on the list, so here is the definitive list....1 key ring, a mug, a fleece, a programme, a hat, 4 t-shirts and a polo shirt will set you back 156 exactly. I hope someone sends in details of what happened after we left. I take it most went to Planet Earth after all? By the time we got back old Chris (the Kiwi some of you may remember who was quite pissed) was out of it with the TV blaring. We lost him some point during the gig - dont know when though. Ian and Wee stoo crashed at ours on the floor then snuck out the next morning. You should have seen Ian actually measuring up the front of the B&B to see if it was possible to jump out the window at 8am!! Anyway - Im off to get some hard earned kip before setting off tomorrow for Wembley on Thursday night. Now I know what all these football players complain about - all these games in short spaces of time! Only difference is, I love doing it and I aint getting 30,000 a week for it! All the best folks, see you Thursday..
