Hi

So far so knackered eh :o)
Manchester was fun, though they were a little quieter on stage than usual.
But poor Cathal has a cold & has lost his voice, everyone was pretty tired,
but were really looking forward to Newcastle, according to Mr Thompson,
outside of London, the best parties are always in Newcastle. Said you
Geordies really know how to have fun.
Lee's been carrying his video camera & digital camera about & wants to get
some stuff up on the net as soon as possible. Adrian Thrills (the chap who
did the first ever Madness interview) was there & staying over at the hotel
with the guys, he spent a great deal of time chatting with Suggs & Cathal in
the bar, so hopefully some more interviews on the way.
Some one had locked the revolving doors in the bar & after several attempts
I gave up & turned to find another exit, hoping no one had seen my scupper
with the door, I neared the top of the stairs thinking I'd gotten away with
it, until Cathal & Suggs stood to give me a round of applause that the rest
of the bar felt they ought to join in. ;o) doh!
Lee was right about the Geordies & knowing how to have fun, it was
marvellous to meet you all, & I'd like to take this opportunity to thank
Lisa & her hubby Mark for taking such great care of us all & organising such
a grand day.
Lisa you're a star :o)
Mr G, Craig & Stoo, particularly fab to see you all again, can't wait for
Wembley. Pete's really looking forward to it :o)
They were in much better spirits at Newcastle & the atmosphere was
excellent. Poor Cathal was asleep when everyone poured in backstage, & he
was feeling worse than ever, so scuttled off to get some rest in the bus.
Everyone else was very up & Woody was on top form explaining the various
ways of getting drunk on vodka without actually drinking it!
Kids, just don't try that at home ;o)
They had been sent a crate of Monty Python's Holy Grail Ale! Available in
Safeway's soon, & here's a titbit, they're looking into doing a Mad Beer!
Lee is hoping that at Wembley they can get a decent shot of the crowd
holding up the Vote For Fred flyers to be used on the cover of the single.
So if you're going to Wembley, get one of those flyers & hold it high :o)
I stood up & as I turned around my handbag whipped an empty wine glass off
the table, to Woody's great amusement, he set the room off in a chorus of
'Oh Adele' & clammering applause, Gee thanks guys, hey Emma you didn't have
to clap ;o)
The production crew hollered that it was time to get on the bus, but saying
our goodbyes all too soon, no one wanted the evening to end just yet, so on
a complete failure in trying to understand directions to the hotel Mike
insisted we get on the bus as well. How could we refuse? All sat round the
tiny lounge on the bus I had to wonder if this wasn't just unbeatable, but I
was wrong, there was one extra thing that made it the very best for me, we
had Bruce Willis there too, ok so it was just on the video, but hell I was
happy :o)
Lee was a real star & gave me the 'Vote For Fred' t-shirt that Cathal had
been wearing on stage & I guess that's just the best Christmas pressie I
ever got :o)
(Yeah a Christmas pressie, not for services rendered, no groupies on this
band's tours, as has been insinuated.)
So much has happened in the last couple of days, I just cant think! Wembley
starts tomorrow & Ian Dury is set to get up on stage on the 23rd, possibly
on the 22nd too, which will be wonderful.
Quote of the tour so far came from Woody & Mike, who both asked with true
amazement,
"You're doing four gigs. Why on earth would anyone want to see Madness more
than once?"
Bless 'em, best band in the world & they still don't get it.

See a hell of a lot of you tomorrow & Thursday.
12.30 Dublin Castle

safe journeys & Merry Christmas to all.

Adele
