recollect watching madness syoned out of their trees at a gig in Australia
in the mid 80's , (each to their own eh!).
All you guys did a fanatstic thing for the cancer fund nuff
respect. Yes suggsy is a better entertainer and im a big fan , he just cant
sing.

I'm sure Suggs would be the first to agree that he isnt the best singer in
the world, but essentially he is only one component of the total Madness
package. The fact that his style was originally derived from Ian Dury - who
thrived on actually "talking" his songs rather than singing them could be
the answer to this one. He doesnt need to sing to be entertaining, for he
has bags more personality.
I suppose we here on the TMML are blinded by fanaticism though to an extent,
but then without that, there would probably be more suicides in the UK
caused by having to listen to most of the trash that occupies the charts
these days instead of sticking on that worn out 7" single of Baggy Trousers
and the like. It's the fans that keep this whole thing going. And im glad
there are others like me.
Come to think of it....there certainly would be no cheque for CancerBacup
for over �1200 if we werent so fanatical about Madness to dip into our
pockets and bid for a load of merchandise that to others would seem totally
useless.
RE Marti Pellow....the guy does have a good voice I shall admit. But he is
from Clydebank, supports Rangers and used to take heroin in his spare time -
so when it comes to legends and heroes he just doesnt cut it (unless he has
a spoon and belt handy) ;-)
