Hey all,
All this talk of internet-Madness has got me thinking (steady on there!),
I think it was Rob H who told me that Pearl Jam (a well known US band) released
25, yes 25 CDs of live gigs, all at around £16.99 each. I think bootleg
productions were cut rapidly since that time. It would cost about £300 in total
for the lot I think. They were also for sale on the net.
On the subject of internet releases.... Several big names in music have started
releasing stuff over the net, such as The Who, who released an exclusive internet
release of a gig they did recently. However, what they did was custom CD's. There
were 30 tracks in total recorded, and you could pick your fave 20 and they would
send you it customised et al. Maybe this could be a good idea?
For those who want the official Madness website address, it is www.madness.co.uk,
although the latest updates were found at http://eden.vmg.co.uk/madness, because
the last i heard the madness.co.uk address had been frozen???
More internet ideas... Bands in the past few years have done "webcasts" of gigs,
such as the ID Tribute gig last year. That could be a good idea for an
internet exclusive audio and/or visual Madness gig?
Also the problem with this audio thing on the website. If we did pay £10 for the
audio files, thanks to lots of these audio programs such as Napster, the sounds
could be spread to people for free....
Anyway, must go, just some ideas I thought I'd share.
Cheers,
Woz.
