ABBA, Billy Joel, Bruce Springsteen, the Kinks and probably others that I'm not thinking of...and now Madness. Does everything have to be turned into a musical? One or two of these and it's kind of a cute idea, but after that it's just predictable and cheesy and I for one am glad I won't have to see a musicalized version of Madness. It just trivializes the artist and also saps their energy away from working on projects featuring actual new music.
