As a tester I have a pile of partitions with lubuntu, ubuntu various levels, windows7, plus experimenting with Mate, debian lxde and Google 3.12 on built in hard drive and external USB solid state drive.
I set up my partitions for testing the way I want with Gparted. Manual install of Lubuntu 2014/10/16 booting the iso from hard drive went exactly cookbook nothing unexpected. BTW, wide screen 1368x768 external monitor the lubuntu panel is on left side like "unhidden" unity giving me more vertical lines than the way unity usually sets up.
