HP desktop with no audio or second monitor output [EG642AA-ABA M7260N,

Bug description:
Fresh install of Ubuntu 11.04. No sound is the main problem. Tried
changing settings in GUI, but makes no difference. Using a second
monitor with HDMI out and it has no video either. Tried just SVGA
cable to second monitor, no change, will not detect second monitor.
Turned off DCI data out setting from second monitor as one report
suggested, no change.
